Today, Claire creates under the pseudonym "Blurblur" - a childhood nickname referring to her scatterbrained personality that she has reclaimed to represent her wildly eclectic interests. Drawing inspiration from nature, music, and geek culture, her style has evolved into a unique conglomeration that she describes in three simple words: Rough, morbid, and melancholy. The Scaredy-Cat Behind the Horror One of the most surprising things about Blurblur? Despite her penchant for the macabre, she admits she is actually quite a "scaredy-cat." Armed with a rich, overactive imagination as a child, she was easily terrified by horror. Yet, as a teenager, she couldn't help but be drawn to dark media - games, films, books, and music. She leaned into the fear, and those shadowy elements inevitably crept into her artwork, transforming her childhood love for pristine nature into a fascination with the beautiful, darker side of life. Enter "Necro-Entomology" Blurblur’s latest design is a stunning reflection of this artistic evolution, aptly titled Necro-Entomology. Born from an obsession with pinned insect specimens and the concept of death itself, the design explores what life leaves behind. Triggered by personal grief and the human desire to preserve fading memories, Claire turned to the aesthetics of Western taxidermy and bone-cleaning. From there, a new question drove the project: What if different animal bones could be resized to fit perfectly onto the wings and bodies of insects?
