Every artist has an origin story, but few take a turn quite as unexpected as Claire’s.
If you had asked her at five years old what she wanted to do with her life, her answer would have been simple: draw flowers forever. A fateful trip to a beautiful park awakened a deep love for Mother Nature that sparked her lifelong artistic journey. Today, Claire creates under the pseudonym "Blurblur" - a childhood nickname referring to her scatterbrained personality that she has reclaimed to represent her wildly eclectic interests.
Drawing inspiration from nature, music, and geek culture, her style has evolved into a unique conglomeration that she describes in three simple words: Rough, morbid, and melancholy.
The Scaredy-Cat Behind the Horror
One of the most surprising things about Blurblur? Despite her penchant for the macabre, she admits she is actually quite a "scaredy-cat."
Armed with a rich, overactive imagination as a child, she was easily terrified by horror. Yet, as a teenager, she couldn't help but be drawn to dark media - games, films, books, and music. She leaned into the fear, and those shadowy elements inevitably crept into her artwork, transforming her childhood love for pristine nature into a fascination with the beautiful, darker side of life.
Enter "Necro-Entomology"
Blurblur’s latest design is a stunning reflection of this artistic evolution, aptly titled Necro-Entomology.
Born from an obsession with pinned insect specimens and the concept of death itself, the design explores what life leaves behind. Triggered by personal grief and the human desire to preserve fading memories, Claire turned to the aesthetics of Western taxidermy and bone-cleaning.
"Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return." This haunting line from the horror miniseries Midnight Mass deeply resonated with her during the design process, serving as a philosophical anchor for the piece.
A Beautiful, Happy Accident
The creation of Necro-Entomology began digitally. Claire obsessively studied the anatomical features of animal bones and insects, blending them together on her screen.
The breakthrough came via a "happy accident." While working on a poster for KLIF, she experimented with merging a ribcage and a beetle. It worked perfectly. From there, a new question drove the project: What if different animal bones could be resized to fit perfectly onto the wings and bodies of insects?
The Perfect Fit for Your Setup
So, why does Necro-Entomology make for the perfect tech accessory?
If your desk setup features a moody, blue aesthetic but you find yourself craving a slightly grotesque, solemn edge, this design is for you. It appeals to lovers of insects, bones, and oddities alike. Blurblur purposefully utilized a monotonous blue palette, offering a comforting, low-contrast visual that is easy on the eyes while remaining endlessly fascinating to look at.

A Rising Star in the Art World
Blurblur's unique vision hasn't gone unnoticed. She has been an active collaborator within the tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) community, partnering with Here Be Dragons and Nightshade Tavern for their International Women's Day events over the last three years.
Her artwork has also crossed borders, with her linocut, risograph, and installation art being showcased in prestigious international exhibitions, including:
