Top 3 Things to Know Before Buying The KapCo Keycaps

on

If you're looking to spice up your mechanical keyboard with some new keycaps, there are a few critical factors to consider before making your purchase. Here are the top three things you need to know to ensure compatibility and get the best value for your money.

Switch Compatibility

 Cherry MX Switches

The first and foremost thing you need to check before buying keycaps is whether they're compatible with your keyboard's switch type. Our keycaps are designed to fit with "+" sign switches, including popular Cherry MX switches and compatible clones such as Gateron, Kailh, and Outemu.

Note: The color of the switches, whether red, blue, black, brown, or any other color, does not have a significant impact on the compatibility of the keycaps. As long as the keycaps have the "+" symbol, they will fit properly regardless of the switch color.

However, if your keyboard features proprietary switches, such as Low Profile Switches, Logitech's Romer-G switches or Razer's Optical switches, our keycaps may not be compatible. Always double-check the compatibility before making your purchase.

Standard Layout by u/RatratanX

While our keycaps are designed to fit most standard layouts (Space bar with size 6.25u), it's essential to verify if they work with non-standard layouts, such as the Alice-style layout, ErgoDox, Corne, X-Bows, and more.

Here are the example of mechanical keyboards with standard layout: Keychron K8, HyperX Alloy Origins Core, Razer Huntsman TE, Drop CTRL, Ducky One 2 Mini, Durgod Taurus K320 TKL, Anne Pro 2, Kemove Snowfox/Shadow, and more.

Additionally, some full-sized mechanical keyboards from companies like Razer, Corsair, and Logitech have a "non-standard" bottom row (Space bar with size ranging from 6.0u - 7.0u) with varying space bar and modifier key sizes. It's important to check if our keycaps fit your keyboard's layout to ensure a seamless fit.
